The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change. Online Platforms Reaction Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services. It has advised users to review their products and manually change the size where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Modifications Earlier, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Stories A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
